Abilities and Potential

Think of it this way . . .

If you wish to be great in any way at all, you must begin right now…where you are…with what you have to offer. Those who are willing to give what they can to their present circle of influence, those who can be a good citizen and encourage others to be better and do better, those who would be a contributor… whether they labor in the factory, sit behind a desk or maintain a home; those who would be great anywhere must first be great in the place where they are.

By the bye, think of it this way, too:

“The best defense against usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry.” – William F. Buckley, Jr.

I believe every person has abilities and potential, some readily recognized, some hidden (even from themselves). I believe that with the right motivation or inspiration or even some kind of smack upside the head, anyone may develop and blossom to full fruition as a productive and influential leader (to one degree or another; and that will be just great!).

“If you set your goals and go after them with all the determination you can muster, your gifts will take you places that will amaze you.” – Les Brown

Greatness should not be based on birth or status or income, but on the attitude of a person’s heart to help care for and inspire their fellow man.

“Our attitudes control our lives. Attitudes are a secret power working twenty-four hours a day for good or bad. It is of paramount importance that we know how to harness and control this great force.” – Irving Berlin
